What's going on?

Welcome back to my blog. It's been a while hasn't it and I bet you think I've been on a world cruise without WiFi! Alas, that was a pipe dream and it never happened.

However, I have been away. A few times, since my last blog.

Devon

Due to a change in plans, we managed to get a few days down in North Devon with friends. We love staying with them and this time was no exception. We spent a lovely few days when Jan and I just created! And this is my new winter coat, the result of my labours. We knitted too but that's a secret!

Devon, again

This time I went with my tribe to a gorgeous little cottage for four days. Five girls, like the Famous Five, but we didn't get into any trouble! Well not much anyway. Four lovely days of eating, drinking (only tea for me please), chatting, walking, sewing, knitting and generally running the country.

Suffolk

This was a weekend of combined work and pleasure. What a beautiful part of the country it is. I stayed with my very good friend and colleague Lizzy Curtis. We planned, stitched, shared ideas and had the best time. Lizzy is an expert stitcher and teacher of television fame. I am very lucky to be able to work with her and learn from the best. If you're not familiar with her work, visit https://www.lizzycurtis.com/ and look at all her fantastic designs, you will even find some of mine there!

The highlight of the trip was the Textile East Fair. A huge array of exhibitors and vendors inspiring visitors with all things "textile". I was blown away by the selection of gorgeous vintage textiles for sale and the wonderful display of what can be made from them.

On show was everything from spinning, felting, fabric art, knitting & crochet, dyeing, stitching, quilting, embroidery, the list goes on. I was mesmerised and for the first time in my life, speechless! Needless to say I spent a little bit on gorgeous items whilst meeting some very clever people.

Back to Somerset

Being away is wonderful but being at home in my workroom is really my happy place. I've been concentrating on work with Lizzy a lot and loving every minute. However, I am still knitting and designing, ready to be able to bring you more patterns for the spring. Knitting is a slower paced pleasure for me and it takes longer to make up the samples and produce the patterns than sewing. I hope that just makes the results all the more welcome.

I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me since starting this small business last year. The patterns are selling well and I am humbled.

Here's looking forward to lighter days, better weather and a springtime of opportunities.
