No Hassle

Introducing the No Hassle Tassel shawl.

No hassle - because it's easy to knit with simple lace which is optional, and a straightforward picot cast off, with beads, or without.

Tassel - because it has a tassel on each end of the long arms of the shawl. Again these are optional but add that extra "style" we all enjoy. In the photo, you can see we have some gorgeous amber beads just above the tassels, that pick up the fleck in the yarn.

The shawl has been knitted in a Merino and Silk mix yarn, hand dyed, from Kosy Kitchen Fibres. It is so soft, and the silk makes it feel cool on the skin at the same time as keeping away the chills of the weather. You can of course, make it with any 4ply yarn of your choice.

No Hassle (we'll use the shortened version of the name as it is a bit of a mouthful) measures approx 180 cms at it's widest and 41 cms deep. This means it is an ideal shoulder or neck shawl and can be wrapped loosely round for extra coziness.

I know you're thinking it's only June now and I don't need a shawl. However, if you're living in the UK, you know only too well how the weather can change in almost an instant. There you are, on a lovely summer evening, walking back from the pub or a friend's house and you find there's a chill in the air that you hadn't expected. You then remember your beautiful shawl, tucked inside your bag, so you wrap it round you and immediately feel comforted against the chills.

This shawl is a great accessory for gifting or selling. I don't like to remind myself or you, that summer quickly turns into autumn and then the winter celebrations are not too far away. If you start knitting now, you'll have fun and be organised with gift giving in good time for winter. If you have plans to sell your knitted items at a craft fair, whether it be now or in the winter, you can make a few of these and they'll go like hot cakes.

I hope you like this little pattern. It really is quick and easy to knit and I think you'll agree, it looks fabulous on our lovely model, Jenny.

Happy yarn play everyone.
